Toxins in our Everyday Products?

The Facts About out Everyday Products Revealed

Yes, you read that correctly. Unfortunately, we have a ton of harmful toxins in the products we  use everyday to help us smell and feel “fresh.” For example, in the NIH article, “Evaluation of pollutants in perfumes, colognes and health effects on the consumer: a systematic review,” by the National Library of Medicine cited the multiple toxins present in our everyday personal care products and the deadly effects. The article writes, “The results of this systematic study showed that phthalates, aldehydes, parabens and aluminum-based salts are the most important contaminants in aromatic products that cause side effects such as allergies, breast cancer, reproductive disorders, especially in males, skin allergies, nervous system damage and migraine headaches for consumers,” (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9163252/). Aromatic means that it smells good and leads us to believe we are clean, when in fact we just placed toxins all over our skin, hair and in the air. We have been tricked to believe that the scent of these toxic products we use everyday, means we are clean or our home is clean.

Unfortunately, this belief has caused many of us to inhale and ingest toxic products everyday, not only through our lungs but through the pores of our hair and skin. Skin and hair is porous which means it contains small holes which absorb moisture. If what we put on our skin or in our hair is toxic, we are now poisoning ourselves over time. Many of the toxins used in U.S products are banned in Europe due to their dangerous consequences See this link for more info. No wonder the cancer rates in America are so outrageous compared to other countries.

Also, many perfume companies in the U.S are allowed to have unlabeled toxic ingredients just to generate profits see this link for more info. Due to knowing all this, I personally create my own products! I am a huge fan of DIY and creativity, so I’ve done a ton of research on creating natural products without toxins for myself and family. While living in the Sunshine State as a middle school math teacher, I would often make my own Essential Oil Roll-ons as perfume to combat the heat and sweat. My students absolutely loved the smell and would ask me for some of mine, or to make them their own! I currently have a Shopify Store where anyone can purchase their very own non-toxic perfume roll-on oil, among other non-toxic products to come! In addition to this, I will also provide my affiliate links to some of my favorite non-toxic products on Amazon!
